Types of Hearing Loss

The common causes for hearing loss are hereditary, trauma, disease, noise exposure and aging.

Conductive Hearing Loss-occurs when the transmission of sound is impeded through the outer and/or middle ear.

Sensory-neural Hearing Loss-occurs in the inner ear where the problem lies in the cochlea and /or the auditory nerve.

Mixed Hearing Loss- occurs in the outer and/or middle ear and inner ear. It is combination of conductive and sensory-neural hearing loss.
