DISCHARGE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADENOIDECTOMY
DIETARY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Encourage liquids today.
2. Soft diet this evening.
3. Regular diet starting tommorrow.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Patient to remain quiet for one week.
2. Avoid nose blowing.
3. Acetaminophine, dose for age, every 3 to 4 hours for pain and
temperature.
4. Call the office to schedule a follow-up appointment in one to
two weeks.
WHAT TO REPORT TO YOUR PHYSICIAN:
1. Visible signs of bleeding
2. Vomiting of bright red blood
3. Temperature rises above 101 degrees after two to three days,
(slight fever of 99 to 100 degrees for one to two days is a common
occurance).
