Post-Op Ear Surgery POSTOPERATIVE EAR SURGERY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Do not blow your nose for two weeks. 2. You may change the cotton in your operated ear and the Band-Aid as needed. The doctor will give you instructions for Mastoid Dressing 3. Keep the ear dry - a. Wear a shower cap in the shower. b. When washing hair, hold a cup over your ear or a dry wash cloth to absorb any water to keep the ear dry. 4. Refrain fro any strenuous activity that would create pressure against the ear drum, such as heavy lifting or athletic activity. 5.
