Dr. Belmont completed his undergraduate education at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He then proceeded to complete his internship, followed by his residency in otolaryngology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Following his residency, Dr. Belmont was Chief of Otolaryngology at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, and was on the Associate Teaching Staff at Medical College of Georgia. During this period he also completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
After completing Dr. Belmont’s active military service, he relocated to New Hampshire, joining Ear, Nose and Throat Physicians and Surgeons in 1987. From 1988 until 1991 he also held a position on the Associate Teaching Staff at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Belmont was Board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in 1983. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Belmont’s special interests are the medical and surgical treatment of sinus-related problems, allergy diagnosis and treatment, and the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. He was the first surgeon in New Hampshire to perform the Pillar procedure (www.restoremedical.com) for snoring. Dr. Belmont, along with his associates, are the first surgeons trained in sinuplasty and providing this treatment in New Hampshire. He offers a diverse range of treatment options for sleep apnea, since this is an entity that requires a customized treatment approach, as opposed to the fairly canned surgical options of the past.
